The International Cooperative in Systematic and Comparative Musicology was founded in 1993 during a meeting held in the Institute of Musicology, University of Hamburg. The goal of the Cooperative, which is a scientific non-profit organization, is to further research and exchange of ideas and results concerning systematic and comparative musicology on an international level.
